Applications Engineer-Technical Customer Sales Support
Responsibilities:
  • Review data and spec sheets from customer and from our internal product spec sheets.
  • Download technical data from our "Yoni" database, review and understand the characteristics on our devices.
  • Make recommendations on modifying the data sheets by adding or clarifying specs
  • Respond to customers' technical questions in a careful & scrupulous manner
  • Comprehend & have dialogue with our customers, including questions, regarding their applications and needs
  • Have a thorough understanding and "wide view" of customer needs and develop in depth knowledge of Mini-Circuits capabilities to meet those needs for timely, cost-effective solutions on the first try.
  • Work directly with customers to fully define & respond to their technical questions/requirements, including how Mini-Circuits products are successfully utilized in their systems
  • Utilize Mini-Circuits web site & lead customers to catalog models, where applicable
  • Coordinate opportunities with marketing & sales to best accommodate customer requests
  • Effectively re-examine technical requirements with customers for them to consider alternative solutions within Mini-Circuits capabilities
  • Convey business opportunities clearly and then serve as the liaison between our Engineers and the customer's Engineers to develop designs, define & review trade offs and help resolve design issues favorably to both parties
  • Review technical data & define critical specifications that must be met to win the business opportunity and suggest areas where customers can relax the specs
  • Identify alternate solutions that satisfy the customer demands and are most economically favorable without compromising quality
  • Make recommendations to management for cost-effectiveness of pursuing an opportunity

 

Qualifications:
  • BSEE, MSEE preferred plus a minimum of 3 years' related experience with RF/Microwave components
  • Excellent comprehension and communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • 2-3 years practical bench experience testing, building & troubleshooting microwave RF for microwave circuits
  • Familiar with communication systems, digital modulation techniques for cellular, WiMAX, LTE, etc.
  • Ability to go beyond the obvious answer to a customer that addresses the underlying question.
  • Proven track record working with customers on a daily basis to provide technical assistance, outstanding customer service & maximize business opportunities
  • A person of high integrity whose recommendations are ethical, honest, economically practical and never compromise quality.
  • A person with high energy who is focused & passionate about customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to manage & prioritize projects with a strong drive to see them through completion
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (per ITAR Regulations)
  • Experience in designing RF circuits such as receivers, generators, modulators, demodulators, power detectors, frequency synthesizers, up & down converters, amplifiers and filters - a strong plus
  • Practical work experience with system analysis, design and design trade-offs - a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of the latest technology for RF printed Circuit layouts, RF components, RF packaging techniques and electronic systems packaging - a strong plus
Customer Service Rep-Account Manager
(2 positions-Deer Park & Brooklyn, NY)
Responsibilities:
  • Provide general customer service support (i.e. questions, change orders, expediting price review, late order follow-up, etc.) for our electronic components.
  • Process requests for quotations and quote follow-up.
  • Process all customer orders.
  • Maintain/update sales customer databases.
  • Mediate between customers and internal Mini-Circuits departments.
  • Process/manage new opportunities/sample follow-up.
  • Process the paperwork for any customer returns

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Data entry and spreadsheet experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Good math skills
  • Must have professional demeanor

 

Product Engineer - RF Microwave Components
Responsibilities:
  • Provide design for test and manufacturing inputs to the development team
  • Qualify new products and qualify approval for any subsequent changes to the products
  • Manage the transition of the final designs to production and resolve any technical gaps between the design and volume manufacturing requirements
  • Analyze production assembly and product performance data
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, applications & marketing departments on new and existing designs
  • Develop & implement process modeling & process control strategies
  • Drive product performance improvement and develop cost reduction metrics
  • Work closely with assembly operations, wafer foundries, test development engineering and external suppliers
  • Actively participate in design review meetings
  • Keep products competitive & recommend changes to improve predictability of product performance by establishing a product performance matrix
  • Involved in failure analysis
  • Evaluate materials and suppliers

 

Qualifications:
  • BSEE or MSEE (preferred) plus 7+ years of experience in RF microwave component design and/or semi-conductor manufacturing industries
  • Would consider BSME, MSME or graduate degree in Physics with direct work experience in RF microwave circuits at the component and sub assembly levels
  • Experience in assembly, test & characterization of RF components
  • Industry experience in developing, testing, qualifying & launching products to production in accordance with a disciplined engineering approach
  • Strong understanding & familiarity with related commercial and military standards (e.g., MIL-STD, JEDEC)
  • In depth knowledge of statistical process control techniques, LEAN manufacturing & Six Sigma process improvement methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to work or lead in a cross-functional, team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a high volume & tight deadline environment
  • A self-starter with high energy who initiates and drives value added projects to successful completion

 

Purchasing Manager
Responsibilities:
  • Recommending and implementing purchasing policies and best practices
  • Developing sourcing strategies to support business objectives
  • Managing supplier performance, pricing & quality of raw materials
  • Supervising and mentoring a team of buyers
  • Reviewing and approving all purchase orders
  • Negotiating the terms of major purchase orders
  • Be the driving force behind continuous improvement of the purchasing process

 

Qualifications:
  • Related Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. Business Admin.)
  • 8+ years of significant purchasing experience in a global manufacturing environment
  • 4+ years of direct supervisory experience
  • Experience with overseas suppliers
  • Excellent negotiating, analytical and communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities and short deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Must use good judgment and creative/strategic business skills in solving problems and presenting recommendations to management. .
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • High energy, proactive, self-motivated and a team player

 

QA Engineer
Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality assurance support (review & analyze data, conduct experiments, provide disposition) on problems in manufacturing and test areas.
  • Determine root cause, evaluate and implement preventive & corrective actions for quality problems.
  • Review & approve Electronic Change Notices (ECNs), as required.
  • Follow-up on ECNs after completion, to verify implementation & effectiveness.
  • Review trend analysis to provide solution to quality problems in order to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Evaluate need for inspection points in manufacturing process flow and write inspection procedures.
  • Provide input in the creation and application of statistical technique procedures.
  • Write reports.
  • Represent quality assurance in design review of new and redesigned products as required.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3 years experience in quality assurance, failure analysis, or related fields OR,
  • Master’s Degree and 1 year related experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques i.e. Design of Experiments
  • Report writing capability
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control/ 8D Concepts/PPAP
  • Past experience working for an ISO company that practices LEAN manufacturing is a plus

 

Senior RF Microwave Engineer
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop RF & Microwave circuits, components and sub-assemblies based on customer objectives and requirements.
  • Modify existing designs to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, production yields, etc.
  • Develop performance criteria such as stability, bandwidth, noise, parasitic effects, impedances, hi-frequency behavior, filters, transformations, signals and amplifier designs.
  • Perform circuit & component analysis and simulations using industry ADS, HFSS and other CAD tools.
  • Verify and validate designs through simulations, tests and reliability studies.
  • Prepare layouts, block diagrams & schematics in collaboration with related engineering design teams.
  • Serve as technical support to Production & Marketing departments on new and existing designs.
  • Prepare application notes, technical articles & catalog specs for publication
  • Evaluate new components, materials & suppliers.
  • Hands-on technical management of design projects from concept through production launch including defining project milestones and responsibilities, and managing other members to meet the project objectives
  • Lead and participate in design review meetings
  • On a project basis, supervise, direct and mentor Junior Design and Test Engineers.

 

Qualifications:
  • MSEE preferred with minimum of 5 years related experience. BSEE with minimum of 7 years related experience
  • Industry design experience in developing and launching to production, RF/Microwave component and sub-assembly
  • Demonstrated experience qualifying products in accordance with a disciplined engineering approach
  • Strong knowledge & skills in design documentation, test and measurement
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication & writing skills are musts
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a high volume & tight deadline environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ongoing projects
  • Demonstrated ability to interact, deliver results & be accountable to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with or lead a team of engineers to create & support the activities required during the life cycle of products, from conception through production within stated time frames
  • Past experience working for an ISO company that practices LEAN manufacturing a plus

 

Technical Copywriter – Print & Web Advertising
Responsibilities:
  • Translate technical terminology of Mini-Circuits’ products and usage into common, colloquial, pragmatic and eye-catching language for B2B print advertising & web usage.
  • Distill highly technical content down to convincing & credible sales material.
  • Write as a tech-savvy storyteller and create language that informs and persuades.
  • Write language that captures & promotes the Mini-Circuits “experience” to its customers and makes us unique from the competition. For example, our quality, performance versatility, price/value & customization of our product(s). On-time delivery, creative problem-solving & technical customer support.
  • Write advertising copy & special promotions in trade magazines, mailers and on our website that is clear, persuasive & original.
  • Write press releases and contact appropriate media for distribution.
  • Revise language based on feedback from the President of our company.
  • Work on and be accountable for multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Follow advertising trends and techniques.
  • A considerable degree of creativity and latitude is expected with support from our President.
  • Proofread and edit all copy.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing Business or equivalent.
  • At least three years of creative, B2B, copywriting experience in hi-tech marketing communications.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Software (In-Copy, Acrobat Professional).
  • A portfolio or writing samples that demonstrate strong conceptual abilities and writing skills
  • Previous copywriting experience for a hi-tech manufacturer a strong plus.
  • Direct marketing & mass communications experience a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics and/or consumer electronics desired.
  • E-commerce writing experience a plus.
