How Mini-Circuits increased the performance of its absorptive RF switch and addressed new wireless applications by integrating Menlo Microsystems’ Ideal Switch®
Sep 23, 2025 | Switches
As electronic systems, particularly for wireless communications, become faster, more complex, miniaturized and energy efficient, the performance demands placed on the constituent components increase. These requirements cannot be fully addressed by semiconductor switches which, although extremely reliable, are inherently lossy, or by electro-mechanical relays (EMRs) that exhibit very low loss but have limited life expectancy and relatively low switching speed. Mini-Circuits approached innovative switch developer Menlo Micro to investigate if a collaboration could enhance Mini-Circuits’ product portfolio with a new, absorptive RF switch that could meet the demands of cutting-edge wireless applications.

Mini-Circuits Labs (MCL) and Virginia Diodes Inc. (VDI) to Demonstrate 90–140 GHz Signal Generator at EuMW 2025
Sep 16, 2025 | Events
Attendees of European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Utrecht, The Netherlands, are invited to visit the Mini-Circuits (C073) and VDI (D034) booths to experience a live demonstration of a 90 - 140 GHz signal generator and see how this technology is shaping the future of high-frequency innovation.

Anatomy of a 37-40 GHz 5G n260 Band Front-End with a Discrete LO
Sep 09, 2025 | Amplifiers
The appetite for greater download speeds and lower latency amongst modern mobile device users can be satisfied by higher RF bandwidths. The greatest bandwidths available are found in the mmWave bands, such as 5G band n260 (often referred to as the 39 GHz band, or upper Ka band) which spans 37 to 40 GHz. Although signals in the mmWave band region have the shortest range and poorest ability to penetrate obstacles like buildings and irregular terrain, they do afford the opportunity to achieve incredibly high data rates.
